DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING

Developmental screening is an important tool we use to monitor your child’s health. If developmental delays are diagnosed, the first step toward improvement is enrolling in early intervention services for therapy. Depending on your child’s developmental delay, these services may include physical, occupational, speech and/or behavioral therapy.

We will perform a developmental assessment at all well-child visits through a parent interview. We will also ask you to complete a written developmental survey called PEDS at the 9 month, 18 month and 3 year checkup. This will give you the opportunity to inform the doctor of any specific concerns that you have regarding your child’s development. In addition, you will be asked to complete the MCHAT survey at the 2 year visit.
