Mary Michael Schweiker, MD, FAAP
Dr. Schweiker was born in San Angelo, Texas and has lived many places, including Rome, Italy. Her family eventually ended up in Lynchburg, Virginia where she graduated from E.C. Glass High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Duke University and a medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine/MCV, where she also completed her pediatrics internship and residency and worked at Monument Avenue Pediatrics as a pediatric resident. She joined Monument Avenue Pediatrics full-time in 1997 and is board-certified in pediatrics. She enjoys working in a smaller practice where she gets to know her patients and their families well. Her special interests include asthma, breastfeeding and adolescent medicine. She has been recognized in Richmond Magazine’s Top Docs for Kids and Top Docs issues, West Ends Best Magazine and Chesterfield Living Magazine. She is a recipient of the Elizabeth Harbison Award for Pediatrics, the Emily Gardner Pediatric Resident Award, and the Rookie of the Year Attending Teaching Award. She is involved with mentorship programs with VCU/MCV School of Medicine, the Pediatric Internship and Residency program at VCU/MCV, Maggie Walker Governors School, and Swansboro Elementary School and will frequently have a student, intern or resident with her in the office. Dr. Schweiker and her husband have three teenagers and young adults and stay busy with school PTAs, their children’s sports and activities, and activities at Reveille United Methodist Church. Like many working moms her biggest challenge is balancing a busy career and a busy family, but when she has free time she enjoys traveling, reading, working out, and gardening.
Grace R. Soltys, MD, FAAP
Dr. Soltys was born in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and spent part of her childhood in Berlin, West Germany. After graduating from Berlin High School, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a medical degree from The University of Virginia. She completed a pediatrics internship and residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine (MCV). She is board-certified in pediatrics. Dr. Soltys joined Monument Avenue Pediatrics in 1999 and enjoys seeing patients in a small practice. Her husband is an infectious disease physician and she has a special interest in that area. Dr. Soltys and her husband have two sons and one daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, cooking, gardening, and traveling with her family.
Mary-Margaret S. Kim, MD, FAAP
Dr. Kim was born and raised in Woodstock, Virginia. She received a bachelor of science degree in Biology from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, graduating summa cum laude and with honors. Other undergraduate honors include membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society. She received a medical degree from The University of Virginia, where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. She completed her internship and residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is board-certified in pediatrics. Dr. Kim joined Monument Avenue Pediatrics in August of 2008. Dr. Kim’s special interests include preventing childhood and adolescent obesity through counseling on healthy lifestyle choices. She and her husband are happy parents to three super-fun kids: Ann-Lilly, Luke, and Henry. She is an avid University of Virginia fan. She enjoys going to the gym, biking with her kids, hiking, flower gardening, and creating healthy gourmet meals.
Frances Gwin Tennis, MD, MPH, FAAP
Dr. Tennis was born and raised in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Richmond. Afterwards, she worked for a year at Monument Avenue Pediatrics as a nurse’s assistant before returning to school to complete her medical degree and masters of public health at Saint George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. She returned to Richmond for her pediatric internship and residency at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine (MCV). During her training she worked at Monument Avenue Pediatrics, joining our staff full-time in 2011. She is board-certified in pediatrics. Dr. Tennis enjoys the continuity allowed by a small practice and getting to know her patients and their families. Dr. Tennis and her husband have an energetic four-legged child, a golden retriever named Sydney. When she is not working, she loves traveling, photography, running, barre, gardening, and cheering on the Richmond Spiders basketball team.
Dr. Senecal was born in Portland, Oregon, but spent most of her childhood in Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Carlisle High School. She attended the University of Delaware as part of the honors program and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences. She attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA prior to coming to Richmond to be a pediatric intern and resident at MCV. She is board certified in pediatrics and served as chief resident after completing her residency in pediatrics prior to joining the staff at St. Mary’s hospital, where she worked for 6 years as a Pediatric Hospitalist and was recognized as a Richmond Magazine Top Doc. After years of hospital based medicine, she decided she missed having continuity and getting to help guide parents through the process of optimal child growth and development. She is excited to join the Monument Avenue Pediatrics Staff in June of 2016. When not working, she enjoys traveling the world, playing with her pets, and rooting on the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins.
Susan joined MAP in 2003, and enjoys working with the Doctors in a supportive team atmosphere. She loves helping new parents to adjust. Susan and her husband Chris have 3 children and 3 grandchildren as well as Kiki her tea cup Chihuahua. She loves daffodils and camping in her RV.
Kathleen Harik, LPN
As a child, Kathleen was a patient at Monument Avenue Pediatrics! She joined the practice in 2006 and appreciates the kindness and compassion the staff shows their patients. She and her husband have two energetic sons who keep their household lively. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, and spending time with family.
Barbara Greene, CMA, EMTB, NRCPT
Barbara lives in her childhood hometown, Louisa. She has worked in pediatrics since 1981 and is the recipient of a citizenship award. She joined Monument Avenue Pediatrics in June 2007, after looking for a small practice where she could get to know her patients. Barbara volunteers with a local rescue squad. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with Miss Daisy, her cat, gardening, going to the beach and volunteering in a bible education network.
Jackie Hobgood, RN
Jackie has been working in pediatrics for 20 years. She loves outdoor sports like kayaking, biking and paddle boarding. She also likes to spend time with her children and grandchild, William. She enjoys taking Bridgett, her Labrador, out for walks and to go swimming.
Anne OBrion, MA
A native Richmonder, Anne joined Monument Avenue Pediatrics in February 2015. She attended The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She has previously worked in psychiatry, pediatric urology, primary care, and obstetrics. Anne is happiest working with children in a small practice setting. In her spare time, she enjoys going to concerts, spending time outdoors, walking her dog, Toby, and traveling to Knoxville to see her niece, Josephine.
Evelyn King Burroughs, RN
Evelyn joined Monument Avenue Pediatrics in 2000 and loves her coworkers and her patients. She and her husband have three children (all redheads!). In her spare time, she enjoys acoustic guitar, singing, aerobics and jogging.
A native Richmonder, Tarnetta is very active in her church. She enjoys reading, walking, and singing in church choir. She especially enjoys the outreach ministry where she works with the homeless and the elderly. She loves spending quality family time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
LaDonna enjoys working at our front desk. In her downtime, she loves to travel with her husband Jerome. They enjoy basketball and the Baltimore Ravens. They have one four-legged child, a dog named Roscoe.
Monique Phillips, Front Office
Monique was a patient at MAP from the time she was a toddler to her young adult years. She joined us as an employee in 2012. She loves her coworkers and working with our patients. She graduated as a Medical Assistant in 2013. She is currently enrolled at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Her goal is to graduate from Bon Secours Imaging school and work as a Radiology tech. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, going to church, and being with her church family.
Shaneka Davis joined Monument Avenue Pediatrics in 2015. She loves working at the front desk, meeting new and established patients. In her spare time, Shaneka likes to crochet, and spend time with her family, husband, and her dog Jade.
